Ambassadors to the Nations 1 | iyasostuff.com

I wanted to highlight this group that is near and dear to my heart. I am amazed by what they do, with their limited resources.

Missions Directors – Pastors Darey & Karen Jolley

In 1990, on our first mission trip to Nigeria, Africa, the Lord spoke to Karen, “Does anyone have compassion or care for my people?” Karen responded, “Lord, I do.” and it was then that the Lord spoke to us to give our lives up for the Nations. Then, in 1993, the Lord called us to full missionary work and gave us Ambassadors To the Nations. Pastors Darey & Karen have been taking mission teams, building churches, schools, medical clinics and raising up Bible Colleges in Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, Nigeria, Cuba and many other countries. We take to heart the scripture in Psalms 2:8, and try our best to see this come to pass in the lives of the people we work with.

Why? | iyasostuff.com

The other day I was struck by this passage:

Deuteronomy 5:29 (KJV) 29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

This is the reason God does all He does for us. This is the reason He asks us to do everything…”so that it might be well with [us], and with [our] children for ever!

When he fell in love | iyasostuff.com

Being a Christian is not easy…I will be the first to admit it, but it can be simple.

It’s hard to live the life that God calls us to live. It’s hard to be the people that God calls us to be…so is it worth it?

If someone carried a picture of you in his wallet, and had a huge painting of you on his mantel over his fire place, if every time someone got within 5 feet of him he was always talking about you and how much he loved you and how he was willing to do anything for you. If he always inconveniences himself to make sure you are okay, he always tells you the truth in a loving way, always protects you, always keeps his word, never changes his mind about you, never stops loving you (even when you have a bad attitude), promises to never leave you, always wants to talk to you, and never gets tired of listening to your voice — is actually delighted, no thrilled, no excited to hear your voice, every single time…. would being in a relationship with him be worth it?

What should I do with my life? | iyasostuff.com

Does God care what we do with our lives?

Does it matter whether we become doctors or carpenters or artists?

Did God place me in this time and place for a reason?

How do I find out what God wants for me?

How do I find out where God wants me to go?

How do I hear from God?

Yes he cares! And yes you matter! God’s best is so much better!

Who am I? | iyasostuff.com

I once dated this guy who would always stand me up! Always!

Many times I was the one that had to call him (many days later) to find out why exactly he did not call or show up. I dated him for a while – I did not know who I was, and how valuable I was.

Many times as Christians we let things happen to us because we don’t realize that we have the power to prevent them, or that we did not need to be in those awful situations.

2008 was a great year for me – I began learning who I truly was.

Is God making me sick to teach me? | iyasostuff.com

Yesterday we talked about whether it matters if we pray, and the day before we talked about whether a good God would let bad things happen. So today we are talking about whether this same good God would make me sick (or allow me to be sick) so that he can teach me something.

Well if God is trying to teach you something by making you sick, have you learned your lesson yet?

If on the other hand God doesn’t care whether or not you are sick, well is your God really “good?”

But then again…could Jesus really have taken our sickness from us? really?

…then there's no reason to pray | iyasostuff.com

Along the same lines of yesterday’s post, most people say “well since God is in control, then there is no reason to pray.” While others say “it doesn’t matter if we pray, if it’s meant to be it will be…Que sera, sera!”

Well my dear, you just may be wrong about prayer.

Maybe prayer is a way we communicate with God. Maybe prayer is the way we invite God into a situation. Maybe without this invitation God would not be able to do what he would like to do for us.

Maybe just maybe…prayer really does matter.

Even when it seems like your prayer isn’t getting answered.

If God is good…. |iyasostuff.com

So…I hear this a lot… “If God is so good, then why do bad things happen to good people?”

or the Christianized version ” I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much.”

Pretty much people are saying that everything that happens to us comes from God. The good, the bad, the ugly – It’s all from God.

* What if I told you that the only thing God sends you is good stuff?

* What if I told you that God doesn’t send you any bad stuff?

* What if I told you that God doesn’t control your decisions or other people’s decisions?

* What if I told you that since God doesn’t control your decisions or other people’s decisions he doesn’t control whether or not bad things happen to you?

That is unless you invite him in…

Sin no longer matters? | iyasostuff.com

Often times I hear two extremes about sin

1. Sin separates you from God and when you sin God can’t hear you.

2. Sin does nothing to you because God loves us regardless.

So does sin matter? Does it separate us from God? Does it affect our relationship with God.

The answers are yes, yes, yes and no, no, no
