Making Money Stretch this Chrismas |iyasostuff.com

Hey Single lady with “grown folk bills”…would you like to save some money this Christmas?

Yes I said it! I know it sounds Impossible (but you know how I feel about that word)…anyway, are you excited about saving money?

I know, I know… it’s Christmas time again and yes again you’re not prepared for all the presents you ABSOLUTELY have to buy…well I have some solutions for ya!

  1. You can be like me and just not buy presents for anyone…this takes all the pressure away and if you decide to later buy something for someone, it will truly be a gift, and not an obligation.
  2. Choose one or two people to buy presents for…this will be challenging since some people will feel offended that they did not make the cut, but hey it’s your money! You decide what you want to do with it.
  3. Get creative on your choice of presents or the way you wrap and gift your presents to others
  • You can create your own gift boxes by finding templates online, and using paper you purchase from the store, or using any paper (including newspapers) you find around your house.
  • Trader Joe’s has gift tags on their new holiday shopping bags, which will be a great alternative for you. It will look very stylish and authentic.

save money, save money, save money! 🙂

Please leave a comment to let me know how it goes…
Oh and please let me know what you plan to get me this Christmas as well! I’ll be waiting expectantly! 😀

Keeping the love tank full during the holidays | iyasostuff.com

So thanksgiving day is over…this means the holiday season is officially here!

The only thing is that the holiday season can be especially hard for us single women…While some women are stressing about all the presents they have to buy for their husbands and children, we find ourselves wishing that we had a husband to stress out about…

Here’s my suggestion: Pick some random people in your family, or random strangers in your apartment complex to “stress out” about! Whatever it is that you’re longing for, give it away…it will certainly make you feel better…

In the mean time, be thankful that you can choose whether or not you have to stress during this holiday season…Stay strong!

Halloween/Hallelujah Costumes (for Christians)

The debate still rages over whether Christians should or should not celebrate halloween.

I don’t have any children, so I don’t know if I’m the person to settle the debate…

For those who are looking for halloween costumes for their children, without having to sort through the “skanky maid” outfits, I have a few suggestions

  1. Biblical characters – I mean seriously you can’t go wrong here. Give your son a beard and a dress, and he’s set.
  2. Miracles in the Bible – Bread and fish, need I continue.
  3. Clergy – You know you’re envisioning your child in ministry, now is the time to show everyone how amazing your child will look as a priest.
  4. Cartoons – Veggietales? c’mon…you get my drift.
  5. Professional Careers – Well hey they have to face up to the real world some time

"Must Have" for Jungle survival – Book Review | iyasostuff.com

Surviving your Serengeti : 7 Skills to Master Business and life

Author: Stefan Swanepoel

MUST HAVE BOOK TO TAKE ON A TRIP TO THE JUNGLES OF AFRICA!

For those of you planning a trip to the jungles of Africa – this book is for you, for those NOT planning a trip – this book will probably be more useful to you!

Why? Well we need to learn the secrets of surviving in this jungle of life, and Mr. Swanepoel (I wonder how you pronounce his name?) has provided us with Seven amazing secrets that we can learn from jungle animals…

What can we learn from the animals? (you might ask)

So much. My favorite is the “Enduring Wildebeest.”

Why? Well…we may not be amazingly brilliant, or drop-dead-gorgeous-blindingly-good-looking, but one thing we can do is endure…and guess what? Those who endure usually win!

Pick up the book and learn the 7 skills to surviving the jungles of AFRICA…I mean the jungles of life (please forgive me for getting so easily carried away!)

Until next time.

* yeah yeah…you know the drill, Thomas Nelson provided me with this book for free…and I reviewed the book for millions of dollars…ahem I meant for free.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen – Pleasure in death | iyasostuff.com

Romans 1

Romans 1: 32 So even though we know that sin is wrong, and sin produces death, for some reason we continue enjoying the sin, and having pleasure in those that commit these sins.

My favorite shows on TV are filled with premarital sex, adultery, homosexuality, strife, anger, gossiping, all sorts of evil things, but for some reason I think at least they are not as bad as others…

Some of my former favorite fornication, adultery and strife shows/movie…

  • When did it become okay for FRIENDS to sleep with each other just because?
  • Why did we take God’s WILL & GRACE for granted?
  • Who says just because you don’t have sex before JUMPING THE BROOM, but you do everything but sex, that all of a sudden you are pleasing God?
What are/were some of yours?
