What I learned from the #TooLateToBeNobody Coaching Session

When you get a chance to hang out with someone as fabulous as Remi Owadokun of TMP Academy, you have no choice but to say yes. And the coaching session with Remi was amazing!

Over the weekend I had the privilege of hanging out with her and I learned so much, but one thing I learned more than anything, more than all the talk, more than all the slides…

Anyway before I get into all that, did you know that my wedding anniversary was in August? And did you know that Remi Sent me a cake. I mean this is a woman that I just met this year and she sent me the most delicious and beautiful cake. That’s Remi.

During the training she did something similar, she brought a cake and an award for her mentor Steve Harris, and an award for John Obidi (Mr. Phenomenal himself).

So what did I learn throughout everything?

What did I learn from Remi’s generosity and fabulousness?

What did I learn when her guest speakers were so excited to share their time and knowledge?

I learned that giving precedes greatness, not the other way around.

So if I want to be great I need to give. If I want to be greater I need to give more…

See the funny thing is that many people say that they will start giving when they become great, but the truth is that you have to give now to become great, and not the other way around.

TooLateToBeNobody has gotten me even more excited about 2017…

What are you excited about in the new year?
What are you struggling with?

3 Mistakes Moms Make When Starting an Online Business

Have you met my beautiful daughter? She is the most beautiful young lady in the whole wide world, and I’m just giving you an unbiased opinion. (lol)

The funny thing is although she is perfect, and she came into the world perfect, I have spent countless hours teaching her pretty much everything she knows. Can you imagine that I had to teach her to walk, and use the potty, and speak English, and do all these things that we all know how to do…

So I know by now you’re shaking your head and wondering what is wrong with me… well that is how some of us treat the online business world – we expect that because we have experience in something else, working online should be easy peasy, and that everything should just figure itself out…well it doesn’t quite work out that way.

Here are 3 things that you may be thinking, that would greatly harm your success in the online world.

  1. You think that you can make passive income automatically – I get it, you’re busy, you want something that can start generating income immediately, but it doesn’t work like that at first. At first you need to put in the blood, sweat and tears, then later on you can relax.
  2. You think if it’s not super easy it’s not meant to be – I don’t believe in “hard work” I believe in work. I believe in doing work, and with the online world, just as with any business world, there’s always a lot of work to be done. Expecting it to be easy will only hurt you when things get more challenging.
  3. You think the strategies are the most important thing – Strategies are great! and they will help you get from point A to Point J quickly but they are not the most important thing.

So what is the most important thing? – The most important thing is believing you can do it, and realizing that there is a solution out there for you.

See in the end it all comes back to what you believe. There will be a lot of work involved, there will be a lot of challenges, there will be naysayers, and worriers and misunderstanders, but you just have to decide whether you want the power to decide your future, or you want someone else to make that decision.

One of the important steps for success online is to pick the right thing to sell, the right topic to address, the right problem to solve.

I’m running a training on how to pick a profitable and irresistible topic. You can register here for FREE >>> http://bit.ly/proftopic <<<

So many unsubscribers – am I a failure?

Unsubscribers:

One of the challenges with being an online entrepreneur is learning not to take things too personally.

And one of the most painful things that you can experience is doing all the work to attract people to your awesomeness, giving them access to your awesome freebie, only for them to turn around and unsubscribe.

I know, I know…how dare they!

Well it happens, and that’s okay.

There are so many reasons why people unsubscribe:

  1. They could be having a bad day
  2. Maybe they don’t think you can solve their problems
  3. Maybe they accidentally clicked the link
  4. They could be jealous that you’re having a fabulous life
  5. They might be confused
  6. Maybe they don’t even remember subscribing.

Whatever the reason may be, don’t take it personally, you’re not a failure, it’s all a learning experience.

My recommendations for dealing with unsubscription

  1. Try try try not to take it personally
  2. Have an autoresponder that gives them a thoughtful parting message
  3. In your unsubscribe link, remind them of how they joint your list.

And whatever you do…remember that you’re not a failure.

How do you deal with unsubscribers?

Are you Ready to go from Employee to MoneyMaking Boss?

I’m tired of people talking about how things are changing, and making it sound as if change is such a terrrrrrrible thing… How can we expect to become a MoneyMaking Boss if we are not comfortable with change.

Change is constant, change is life, change is neither good nor bad.

I was talking to someone the other day and he said that so many things are changing, but they are changing for our good, and if we are willing to be wise and take advantage of the changes then we will get rewarded handsomely.

I took that to heart. Because it was the first time in a long time that I had heard someone talk about change in such an amazing way.

So why am I telling you this? Because change is here, and you have an opportunity to benefit from this change, to grow and to make plenty of money.

So you want to start a business? Great! this is the best time to be doing it.

So you want to expand your business? Excellent! there is no better time than today.

But guess what you need?

You need advice, you need direction, you need someone to help you so you don’t make the kinds of mistakes that we made. You need a community of people to keep you accountable so that whatever you say you will do, you actually do it.

So where will you find those people? I’m glad you asked.

I’m hosting a virtual summit and it’s free for you. All you have to do is register for the event

And you will be on your way to becoming the MoneyMaking Boss that you deserve to be.

Your mistakes are destroying your organization

father son
The interesting thing about leadership is that every mistake we make is on the backs of our subordinates. When we make wrong hiring or firing decisions human beings suffer. When we use hurtful words, human beings suffer. It’s not like playing with items where we might scratch the item or cause some kind of malfunction in the item, these are living breathing human beings. Everything we do to them affects the trajectory of their lives. Whether people are able to feed their families or not. Whether people are able to go home at the end of the day feeling satisfied and able to give of themselves to the rest of their family, or whether they go home depressed and tired.

We get to decide whether people will leave our organizations poised for success in whatever else they decide to do, or whether they will leave deflated and discouraged.

The decisions we make every day have such a great impact that I do push leadership on anyone too quickly. People have to be ready to take on that kind of responsibility. But you are already a leader, so whether you’re ready or not is no longer the question. What you must realize is that everything you do is important. Whether you choose to be your best and bring out the best in others or you choose to make everyone subordinate to you feel like useless rags, you get to decide.

You get to decide what you do, but  you don’t get to decide the consequences.

How to Find Joy and Start a Business in Uncertain Times

Are you thinking of starting a business soon?

Well my guest post on smallbizclub.com will help you get started.

Here is an excerpt below:

There comes a point when you think to yourself “this is not what I expected my life to look like.”

When you reach that point you have two options. You can continue as if nothing happened, and join the millions of people with life-long regrets, or you can decide to move into what gives you joy. It may be scary, terrifying, and petrifying to think about leaving a stable income to try something that you’re not sure “will work.” Can I just let you know that the fear, the risk and the sacrifices are worth it, especially if you are smart about how you do it.

Here are a few tips for pivoting into joy:

  1. It’s okay to have a job on the side. While you’re looking at finding what makes your soul sing, you can also keep a job on the side. Yes, a side job can delay your progress, but that’s up to you to decide not to let it be an obstacle. You have to decide how long you will work in this job, and what you will do every day to help you find something more fulfilling.
  2. Get some mentors. One of the best things you can do is get some mentors. If you know some wonderful people who would be willing to mentor you in person, then make yourself available to them. Find people online and…

Why we are not hiring you

I recently wrote a guest post on Bella Naija on some of the HR issues that many organizations have, and why some people are struggling getting jobs. Here’s an excerpt below:

People keep talking about the unemployment rate in Nigeria. Oh it is so high. Oh there are no jobs. Oh there are jobs but there are no qualified people. Oh Nigeria, Oh Nigeria, Oh Nigeria.

The truth is that there are quite a number of jobs, but it can be so hard to fill them sometimes. I have had the opportunity to help recruit for some organizations and when we start getting resumes/CVs I start getting a headache.

Why would I recommend that you get hired when you can’t even spell your name correctly? Or you can’t even spell my company’s name correctly? Well, there are many reasons that you may not be getting called for an interview, or for the position; but, here are a few reasons why you may not be hearing back from the organizations you applied to:

Typographical errors
This is the worst thing ever, as in EVER. When H.R people see typographical errors they immediately believe this person doesn’t know how to spell. This person will embarass me if I recommend them to the organization. This person will embarass the company if they are ever hired. In the end this person may…
